SOLID ah!!

I am happy to announce that tonight is the first time I am starting Joey on semi-solid food!

Ever since she started to show much interest in the food that we eat & attempted to grab our chopsticks, spoons & plates, we decided that it's time to introduce new things into her diet apart from milk. So we bought a tin each of wheat & rice cereals. Tonight, I added in a teaspoon of wheat cereal into her milk.

There were 3 nights in the past week when Joey woke up in the middle of the night crying because she was hungry, and my MIL said it's because the milk cannot make her full now. Adding wheat will fill her stomach more & she can last till morning for her next feed.

As for the rice cereal, we will make it into a thick substance by adding hot water & substitute one of her evening meals with it. This is fed to babies to train them in swallowing so that we can introduce porridge next month. It's also more gentle on the baby's stomach so that it can slowly get used to digesting semi-solid foods.

I am really looking forward to the day when she can sit all by herself in the high-chair. When we go restaurants, she would be able to sit by herself while Isaiah & I enjoy our food. We've got a real nice & big highchair given to us by a friend. It's all assembled for Joey's use soon! :)
